SEN. STARR, REPS. LINDSAY AND EYRE BREWER TO HOST LEGISLATIVE TOWN HALL

SALEM—Sen. Bruce Starr (R-Hillsboro) and Reps. Shawn Lindsay (R-Hillsboro) and Katie Eyre Brewer (R-Hillsboro) announced today they will host a joint legislative town hall on October 11 in Hillsboro to discuss the highlights of the 2011 session. The legislators will also invite citizens to share their ideas and ask questions as they prepare for the next legislative session in February.

“Our focus is on promoting local job creation, improving our schools and developing a more business-friendly environment in Washington County,” Sen. Starr said. “We know these issues are important to all of us and we want to make sure we’re representing our communities to the best of our abilities."

The Mayor of Hillsboro, Jerry Willey, will moderate the event. The town hall is scheduled for Tuesday, October 11 from 6:00-7:30pm. It will be held at the Hillsboro Civic Center Auditorium located at 150 E Main Street in downtown Hillsboro.

“We want to hear what the constituents we represent are most concerned with in our state and what their priorities are for us when we return for session in February 2012,” said Rep. Lindsay. “Having an open discussion about what we need to be focused on in Salem is essential to our success moving forward.”

The town hall is free to attend and open to the public. Any questions or comments about the town hall can be directed to any of the legislators’ offices. Sen.
