Oregon Education Change is Underway

Last October, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan visited Oregon and summarized the transformation we started last legislative session within Oregon's education system: "In the last decade ... there has been a lack of urgency here that is troubling." Lindsay Assists Meals Program

In late October a column ran in the Argus outlining the financial plight of the Our Place Christian Church’s free meal program. The Hillsboro church has served hot meals every Wednesday night for four years for those who need help.

The program has steadily grown to 150 meals served each week. That’s 600 meals a month. For many individuals and families, it is the only time they sit down to a hot meal during the week.
