Oregon’s House District 30 is one of the best and brightest spots in the state. The district is made up of a majority of the City of Hillsboro and all of North Plains. It is home to our very own burgeoning Silicon Forest, including well-respected companies such as Intel, SolarWorld, Genetech in addition to thousands of successful small businesses. We are proud that the largest employer in the state, Intel, has the bulk of its operations in Washington County and has plans to expand and create hundreds of additional jobs with its new D1X facility, set to debut in 2013. The sense of pride runs deep in our community due to our strong school system and the spirit of service that is evident in many non-profit service providers such as the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center. Events such as the historic North Plains’s Garlic Festival and Hillsboro’s Independence parade, as well as the highly successful Hillsboro Farmers Market, draw thousands of neighboring Oregonians into our district. Shawn feels honored to both reside in and represent House District 30.
