About Shawn Lindsay

Shawn Lindsay knows how to work. Growing up in a single parent home, he helped support the family finances by refinishing antique furniture after school and bucking hay during the summers. Some of Shawn’s fondest memories are of the fine employers who taught him how to work hard, to handle finances, and to do things right. He credits his youth leaders for helping him discover education and leading him to college.

Shawn is the fourth generation of Lindsays to call Oregon home. He currently lives in Hillsboro and has been married to his college sweetheart, Amanda, for over thirteen years and they are the parents of three beautiful daughters, Grace, Jane and Claire. Shawn has lived in Spain, speaks Spanish fluently, and is conversational in Catalán.

Shawn was elected to his first term in the State House of Representatives on November 2, 2010 and is proud to represent the constituents of House District 30, which encompasses Hillsboro, North Plains and other small areas of Washington County. Shawn was one of nine new State Representatives to be sworn into Oregon’s 76th Legislative Session on January 10, 2011.

Shawn loves to camp with his family and wrestle with his girls. He is concerned that family expenses and increased taxes continue to be larger and larger which ultimately sap our strength and slow our climb. Shawn believes that when our families are weak, our society is weak; but when our families are strong, our society is strong. Shawn is confident that if we run our state budgets like our family budgets, our state and families will be strong.
